VFuel Athletes Toeing the Line...

2014-01-30

This is a big weekend for VFuel Athletes! Two big Ultras are going on and we'll be well represented at both! As well as having the favorite at the Tallehassee Marathon!

Sean O'Brien 50

Timmy on a training run in CATwo VFuel athletes will be toeing the line tomorrow at the Sean O'Brien 50. Timothy Olson is coming off of another stellar year and hoping to start 2014 off with a bang! He has to be one of the favorites. And the course suits Timmy very well. At 50 miles and over 11k of climbing this will play well into his preparation for the Hardrock 100 in July. Josh Arthur will be lining up next to Timmy and it would not be surprising to us if Josh wins the race outright. While not the 'household name' that Timmy Olson holds, with his two Western States wins, we have seen Josh run plenty of times and he is only getting stronger and faster. The guy, like Timmy, seemed to get faster and stronger as the race goes on. He finished 2nd in his 100 mile debut at Cascade Crest and may have caught the winner, VFuel Athlete Jeremy Humphrey, if the race had been a bit longer as Josh was dropping 6:00 miles for the last few miles in an attempt to chase down Jeremy.

With the rest of the field being super competitive this should be a great race to watch unfold! To read more about what to expect during this inaugural race, check out the race preview on iRunFar. http://www.irunfar.com/2014/01/2014-sean-obrien-50-mile-preview.html

Rocky Raccoon 100

Larisa's VFuel for Rocky!Larisa Dannis is returning to Rocky and we think it will be quite a different experience for her. She ran it as her first 100 three years ago and finished with a respectable time of 25:10:12, but since then has exploded onto the scene with a signature win at the Vermont 100 and a 7th place finish at the Mount Washington Road Race only 8 minutes off the winner. She's going to simply run her race and wherever she finishes, she finishes. But we have followed her for a spell and she is getting faster and stronger and we wouldn't be surprised at all if she finishes at the top of the field at this Montrail Ultra Cup Race... also serving as the USATF 100 Mile Championship. Tallahassee Marathon

And last, but certainly not least, Bryan Morseman is running the Tallahassee Marathon on Sunday. He has to be the favorite toeing the line and is surely in the top 5 as he is inching closer and closer to his Olympic Trials goal of a sub 2:20:00 marathon. It's sure to be an exciting weekend of following along with a few of our smoking fast athletes!
