Shawn Williams

I got into running when I was 9 because we had this club every morning before school where we would run laps before school started. By 6th grade I was putting in 6+ miles a day. When i was 13 I ran my first real trail race the Pajarito trail fest 10K, I came in 12th overall in 1:08:00. When I was in Middle school I ran cross country and track and I tended to be in the middle of the lead group and I would continue this trend into Highschool. Highschool was challenging both physically and emotionally. I trained under Robbie and Kathie Hippwood and I still implement some of their training today. During my senior year I quit track to pursue Ultrarunning and instantly fell in love with the sport. I run with an old XC coach of mine Blake Wood and always learn something new. Now I have my sights set on qualifying for Hardrock in the next few years.
