Growing up I was in pointe ballet and I loathed running. I picked up running after college as a way to deal with anxiety. I may not be fastest runner, but I can go for a long time. I enjoy taking on the long distances to see what I'm capable of.
Hometown: Milwaukee but now I live in Minneapolis
Real Job: Digital Marketing in your a-typical cube
Favorite Beer or Wine: I love a good stout or hefeweizen.
Guilty Pleasure: I sleep like 10-11 hours a night.
Other Hobbies: Traveling to/hiking the National Parks and playing the piano.
Pets: I have a Blue Heeler named Pete and a Boston Heeler named Flynn. They run with me whenever they can. They're very cute, trust me.
Best thing about VFuel: I can eat VFuel for 24 hours with NO issues during a race, and that is a win!
Best recovery meal: Thin crust cheese pizza with black olives. Very specific.
Favorite trail running memory: Going out to Rhode Island to run the Anchor Down Ultra 24 HR - I took my mom with me as my one crew member and we had a blast out East. It was my first time running for that amount of time & it went surprisingly well!
Schedule: This sure is a weird year and 5 of my races have been cancelled so far, but I've still got the Dances with Dirt 50k in July and the Yeti 100 in September.
Any advice you want to share with a new athlete?: Keep going, you're your only competition.
